Pearl necklace is an opera length antique from 1950s with 2 strands, 37" and
39" long, of best quality Japanese Akoya saltwater cultured pearls and an Art
Deco style 14k diamond and pearl clasp.
This spectacular antique double strand of 76” combined length of 221 exquisite
pearls in the opera length saltwater cultured pearls, has an antique Art Deco
pearl and diamond clasp.
It is perfect for a wedding or as a special sweetheart gift, and is a perfect
"Something Old" since both the pearl necklace and the clasp are vintage
antiques.
You can see from the several close up photos, these pearls are exquisite in
quality, beautiful matched iridescent color, and size, and just not found at
this price any more.

and one of 39" (111 pearls) with a total of 221 pearls that are 7.5 to 8.0mm in
size, flow nicely and feel heavenly on the body.
-- WEARING OPTIONS: The double strand pearl necklace is fashion forward and
very versatile due to the extra long length of these pearls.

The last photo shows my late mother (then 92 years old) joyfully wearing her
(this) favorite strand of pearls to my wedding!
These very high quality exquisite saltwater cultured pearls came from my
mother's estate jewelry collection of exquisite jewelry that she cherished.
The pearls are professionally strung and silk knotted, so they are clean and
in excellent condition and hand knotted so if it should break at some time, you
will not lose your pearls.
The genuine saltwater pearl opera necklace is a mid-century antique treasure
from the 1950s.
-- APPRAISAL: The pearls. bought in the 1950s, are described, in a later 1992
appraisal, as "having a white nacre (the pearly outer layer) with light pink
and ivory overtones. They are described as having good luster, sheen, and nacre
thickness, and being evenly round and with minimal flaws.
The pearls are well matched throughout for uniformity of color, size, and
quality.
The antique clasp has 6 round fully brilliant cut diamonds at 2 points each
(.12 total diamond points) with two 7mm pearls offset on the clasp. the value
as noted in the 1992 appraisal is just under $10,000 including the entire pearl
necklace and 14k gold diamond and pearl clasp."
The necklace has no doubt appreciated greatly in value since then, and the
added value of high quality Japanese Saltwater pearls over freshwater pearls
and the excellent antique quality.
I am offering them at an excellent value, for the high quality and condition
of the necklace and clasp and the more valuable Japanese saltwater pearls and
the antique Art Deco 14k diamond and pearl clasp.
This elegant classic strand would make a very special wedding gift, sweetheart
gift, graduation gift, anniversary gift, or June birthday gift!
Pearl is the birthstone for June.
