This butterfly brooch is truly a beautiful creation of the masters of DeLizza
& Elster and their line of Juliana. It's completely outlined with shimmering
aurora borealis crystals, the wings have root beer color navettes and the
abdomen is made of root beer chatons. All the stones are prong-set. This
definitely is a statement piece and will collect a lot of compliments. It is
approx. 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. It is in excellent vintage condition.

In 1947, William DeLizza and Harold Elster founded their company DeLizza &
Elster, also known as D&E, in New York City. Their vision was to design and
manufacture high quality costume jewelry and accessories bringing some glam and
sparkle for the customers after World War ll. Their line of products were a
huge hit and in time their list of clients grew to over 800 firms, like Coro,
Hobe, Weiss, Kramer, Hattie Carnegie, Sarah Coventry, and so many more well
known firms. In the 60's they created their own personal line called Juliana.
They made them with amazing art glass stones and metals and the design was not
like any others. The pieces were not signed, they used hang-tags instead. So it
really helps to know their materials and techniques of manufacturing and
studying books in order to identify.

I am a private collector, not a business and I'm thinning out all of my
collectibles and vintage treasures I've obtained over the many years. All sales
are final!

The majority of the jewelry I have belonged to my grandmother. She had a lot
and she loved wearing them all the time.
